After seeing the doctor, I came back to the piano and started practicing one of my original piano compositions.
I created this piece earlier, inspired by Shakespeare’s Sonnet 18, “Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?” Since some parts of the piece had become a little forgotten, I’m going back to the piano and practicing it again, little by little.
It’s interesting to return to your own music after some time. Some parts come back quickly, while others need to be rediscovered through practice.
Today is simply a quiet practice session—me, the piano, and a piece of my own music.
Sometimes, practicing an old composition is also a way of reconnecting with the person who created it.
